Family Celebrations

My family hasn't really celebrated much. I guess we have really only celebrated Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and The Forth of July.
One Christmas eve we go to my Grandma Vi's house. One Christmas we go to my grandma Pat's house. Then all the other Christmases are usually on different days every year. For my Grandma Vi's we usually just get her a present and no one else. During my Grandma Pat's we do the same just for her. Then for my Grandma Codi's and Grandma Sheri's (two different ones) we do a hat pulling and what ever name we get we buy things for them.
Then for Halloween we usually go trick or treating. I went for my last year this year because I had to take my cousin up to the doors. So the next years I would pass out candy at my Uncle Paul's house.
For Easter, we go to families houses for a huge dinner or lunch. Then we hide candy for the little ones. My Grandma Sheri buys us small gifts though. She is the only one who does that.
For Thanks giving we have a lot of parties. We go up to my Grandma Codi's and Papi's house for a lunch. Then we eat food with my Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Bill. We also have a huge dinner at my Grandma Sheri's.
The Fourth of July we just go see fireworks. We light our own sometimes too. I love the big bangs, but they scare me sometimes. My brother and Step-dad have Roman Candle fights. When we do light fireworks, we can't light to many at out house because our horses freak out at the loud bangs.

Anything Can Ruin Someones Day Even Something Small

One day, a new girl came to Georgetown Junior High. Her name was Marley, and she is also wild and active. Wolves where her favorite animal; she lives on a farm too. Soothing, calm waters of the ocean is where she loves to collect seashells as a hobby. One day, she showed up to school all sad, and no one could figure out why she was not excited and exuberant as always. After a few hours of school, everyone found out that some immature boys in her grade were picking on her and not being so nice. She didn't let it bother her like usually, until someone said that she should lose the farm act and be normal like all the other girls. So, after school her friends, girls and guys, took her out to eat at the kebab cafe in town. Still, that did not cheer her up at all, and they tried their hardest, so they went skiing next, because Marley loves skiing. As it did before it did not cheer her up. So, they all went to get their nails done, even the boys to see if they could get her to laugh. Just as they tried other things before it did not work. They all had to go home, and they all hoped she would be better by the next day. The girls had a Basketball the game next day, and Marley plays on the basketball team. She played as good as she usually does and hitting her threes like she does on her good days. They took home the win, but at the end of the game she still never smiled or even seemed happy. The next day she came back as her usually self. Happy, Energetic like usually, and no one knew why. Then, it started spreading around that her crush asked her out and she said yes. The day of her being happy again, her boyfriend took her out to get ice cream. For a very long time she stayed herself and never let anything bother her again, because her boyfriend took care of the boys that were jerks to her.

Veterans essay

Veterans risk their lives every day for us; they even risked being injured for us. Their lives could change at any point in time during the war. “Mothers, sisters, fathers, brothers, and grandparents can go to sleep at night without worrying,” said Greg Blackburn. He also said, “A conflict is when two people throw stones at each other and a war is when two people shoot each other.” It is important to honor
veterans every day and not just once a year because they serve us every day, not just one day a year.
My grandpa Bill was in the Vietnam, but some of the others he fought with might know him as William Houghtby. My grandpa was a welder for the core of engineers. He said it was hot, humid, very noisy, and rainy. It would rain for 20 days in a row it was called monsoon season, lots of bugs worse than here in the summertime, and guns, bombs, helicopters going off at night. He was in a couple of fights with a couple of guys. He got to shoot the gun a couple of time at the people who he thought was the enemy because they
were on the other side of the fence, and the other side of the fence was open range. He was just there more less having fun, he didn’t do much because there wasn’t much going on during the end of the war, 70 or 71. He was only 18 and he was fighting and/or helping. He hauled heavy machinery back and forth between bases; they carried them on cattle trailer but it hauled humans and had little windows so they could see out. “We should have stayed and won the war because we lost 50,000 thousand people and in my opinion it was like a waste for those people to lose their lives because we didn’t win the war,” is a quote said by my grandpa. He also said all the vets were treated terribly when they got home compared to how we treat them now. Ever since the Vietnam we have started treating veterans a lot better than we did before.
So, I am so thankful for my grandpa and many other veterans that served for our country. I thank you so much for all the ones who died or risked their lives. I have met many veterans and some of the veterans I didn’t even know they were veterans at first. Once I found out they were veterans I thanked them for their service. It is respected to show your thanks towards veterans, so I encourage you to do the same.
